Context
What is Generation.E
Generation.E is a start-up managed by the two co-founders. They organize up to 4 events per year around mobility using green energies. These are summits organized over several days or even road trips with electric cars. Between Dubai and Johannesburg, their target are automotive professionals, ministers of the environment, transport or communities…
My role
How I helped them
The co-founders called on me to create a website for them. This included the management of site hosting, design, content creation, integration… My scope was very broad and I started with only a styleguide that they had provided to me. I had to organize myself in order to meet the deadlines before the event, even though the information was given to me late and I was completely autonomous on my tasks, so there was a risk that it would not suit them a few hours before the events.
Website creation
I created a website from scratch using WordPress. To deliver the 20 pages it took me 3 weeks full time including the initial brief and the back and forth with the client. Now the website is divided into 5 branches representing each event and it has 32 pages. I’m really proud of this project because I had a lot of challenges but the clients were very satisfied in the end. Here some ressources when the website has been created.

Some challenges I have faced and successes:
There was no developer or integrator it was my role to make sure the web experience reflected the design
The briefs were oral only and unstructured
I had no visibility on the needs of the following week, I had to be very flexible while having a full-time job during the day.
I had to be very organized to deliver certain elements in very tight deadlines
I have always found ways to deliver on time, sometimes using workarounds
They were satisfied with my work
I learned a lot whether in terms of organization, customer relations, web integration (HTML,CSS) etc...
